Rapid STEM prototyping · Marabou camp

From a learning goal to something students can actually use.

For Marabou camp, I developed a connected set of STEM experiences: browser-based strategy tools, a physical-computing sequence, mathematical investigations, and practical numeracy lessons.

Two tools open directly into the experience

Both self-contained browser applications now open directly into an English-language learner experience.

Collaborative strategy game

6×6 board adventure

A facilitator can place pieces, generate terrain, and run a cooperative route-planning challenge with walls, rivers, traps, treasure, and an exit.

Mathematical strategy tool

Backward induction explorer

Learners change board dimensions and move rules, test positions, and reveal the winning-state pattern for several chess-piece variants.

Beyond the browser

Lessons, worksheets, and facilitator support

The code is only one layer. Each strand connects concepts, learner actions, facilitator guidance, and evidence of understanding.

01

Mathematical practice library

Five complete English worksheets from multiple teaching programs: reasoning, Pascal's triangle, combinatorics, probability, and applied consumer mathematics.

02

Physical computing with micro:bit

A four-session sequence covering events, variables, conditions, accelerometer data, sound, magnetic field, temperature, pins, radio, and data logging.

03

Real-world consumer mathematics

An 80-minute investigation of unit price, misleading pack sizes, shrinkflation, threshold discounts, and evidence-based purchasing decisions.
